Valentine’s Day is a day of celebration not a day to dread. It is a day you can still get your single person happy dance on, however it does take a savvy single to see it from this prospective. 7 Tips to Filling Your Heart with Love and Happiness This Valentine’s DayDating Advice Valentines Day, Dating Coach Services,

Savvy Singles Valentine’s Day Tip 1: There’s Always Someone to be Your Valentine

One of my most favorite Valentine’s Day memories is when I was single and in my early 20’s.  After finding out I had no date for Valentine’s Day my younger bother Joey asked me to be his Valentine. He was around 12 years old and my little buddy. We went to dinner and afterwards we hung out at my apartment. We watched movies and laughed a lot. We had so much fun and truthfully it is one of my top 3 Valentine’s Day memories.

We all have very special people that are near and dear to our hearts that bring us laughter and joy. These are our closest friends and sometimes our family members. Invite these close people out for a night of love and laughter. Host a night in with dinner, drinks, and board games or poker, or a night out at your favorite restaurant. Your imagination is your limit so be creative, and have a blast!

Savvy Singles Valentine’s Day Tip 2: Enjoy the Night Out with Fellow Singles

Whether you decide to fly solo or invite a friend, doing a little research upfront and picking a singles event to join is a great plan. You’re single so why not celebrate the night out with fellow single people that are looking to mingle, laugh, and have fun?

Savvy Singles Valentine’s Day Tip 3: Don’t Get in Your Own Way

Often times we limit ourselves by our thinking or putting unrealistic rules in place for ourselves. Don’t do it! If you want to go out, go out…and find something that you think would be fun and exciting. Ask people to join you or head out solo but most of all don’t stop yourself from doing something you want to do. Don’t limit your desires just because you don’t have that “special someone” in your life. We all have special people to us, so ask them.

Savvy Singles Valentine’s Day Tip 4: Pamper Yourself

Get a massage or a pedicure, buy yourself a nice dinner, buy a new DVD or album, and if you want… buy yourself those darn flowers. Heck, I buy myself flowers all the time simply because I LOVE them. They make me feel good and if you want a beautiful bouquet for Valentine’s Day… order them now to save yourself some money and make it happen.

Savvy Singles Valentine’s Day Tip 5: Celebrate Being Single

It is human nature to be drawn to wanting and yearning for the things we don’t have rather than appreciating what we do. Let’s face it; there are a lot of things that ROCK about being single. Relationships are great too, however they do take work and at times sacrifices that you simply don’t need to make when you are single. As a single person you have an endless amount of liberties. Celebrate your freedom to go anywhere, do anything, along with flirt with and date as many people as your heart desires without needing to answer to anyone!

Savvy Singles Valentine’s Day Tip 6: What Are You Waiting For? Schedule a First Date!

I am not the type of coach that teaches people that it is a sin of all sins to go on a first date on V-Day, however; I have to say it can be very tricky. Without knowing you I would encourage you to not do it because if you are really not in a healthy place this could really hurt your heart. Going on a first date Feb 15th is a completely different story. What the heck, why not – why waste time? If you met someone new and you want to go on a first date schedule it for after Valentine’s Day. It will give you something to be excited about and look forward to.

Savvy Singles Valentine’s Day Tip 7: Don’t Be Ashamed of Being a Happy Single Person

Even with the fact that there are more single people in the world then there are married, we still live in a society that puts undue pressure on single people. There are many people that will try to pull down your rainbow and make you feel bad about being happy and celebrating your single life. Stay strong and be unapologetic about being a happy single person.

I Leave You With This Final Valentine’s Day Advice

The most important part of Valentine’s Day when you are single is to remember to keep your head up and and celebrate the love you have in your life. The love of self, the love of friends, the love of family. Don’t waist your time and energy worrying about the love you wish you had. I promise you if you make the commitment to not only make a plan for finding love in 2014 but also work it then next year you will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a romantic flare!
